About
I was born into this round world around the end of the 80s, towards the conclusion of what we call the beautiful season, close to the end of September, on the 25th day, at noon. Although I’d like to make a literary entrance, I’ve never been good with literature. Turkish and literature classes were always tough for me. I even failed in university. It wasn’t my fault, but the teacher had it out for me :)
My folks didn’t have much trouble picking a name. Thanks to my father’s dominance, they settled on the name Melih, which means “beautiful, cute, lovely, handsome…” Meanwhile, although it signifies these beautiful meanings in Turkish, in Arabic, it also means “salty”.
See: For boys, Melih, for girls, Meliha…
Since my father was a forester, I spent my childhood in the housing complex of the forestry operation, a place that kids in the surrounding neighborhoods envied. Yes, I admit, in their eyes, we were bourgeois.
I attended Gazipaşa Elementary School, then Anatolian High School… By the way, I forgot to mention, I was born and raised in İnegöl. After Anatolian High School, I couldn’t get into Computer Engineering, which I really wanted :) My score wasn’t enough, what can you do??? Obviously, I wasn’t a top student. I can exclude middle and elementary school from this conclusion :)
Anyway, since I couldn’t get into Computer Engineering, I said, let it be Mathematics (whatever that means). I got into Yıldız Technical University, Mathematics department.
After 6 years (not medicine, let me remind you, it was mathematics), school finally ended. It was a good university life. Especially, my involvement in folk dances during university was a significant development for me.
Then, my professional life began. If you ask what I did for a living, I can tell you it wasn’t with Mathematics :) I didn’t make any money from Mathematics. I fell in love with software development. My first job was at shobbo.com, an e-commerce site. Don’t bother looking, the site went bankrupt in 2008 :)
After that, I started at Lcwaikiki in information technology. Military service, back to Lcwaikiki, and I’m still going.
I love listening to music, reading books, and exploring new places. Okay, I lied. I don’t like reading books :) I don’t like exploring new places either, I just wrote it as a fancy sentence. Somehow, I love laziness :)
I’ve written too much, haven’t I? That’s enough…
